Sueños de Fútbol, the Teatro Milagro bilingual adventure about a young girl who embraces her dream of playing soccer while discovering Mayan mythology, performed today for the higher grades at Scott School (K-8) in northeastPortland. While the actors warmed up before the show, a few of the students spent some time taking selfies with the backdrop. We asked them to pose for a snapshot for us, too!
The diverse school is one of the sites that Founding Director Danel Malan’s has selected to be part of the first middle school Bilingual Arts Integration Case Study. Next week, Teatro Milagro’s teaching artists will begin a series of workshops that integrate arts and bilingual education at Scott and Arleta School in southeast Portland, through generous funding from Multnomah County.
