Give!Guide

It is the time of year to give thanks and give back. We invite you to join us and other local nonprofits in Give!Guide 2017. Whether you are new to Milagro or a long-time supporter, now is the time to RISE UP and be a part of making our future possible!

We have stories to tell and unique educational programs waiting to reach students across the country and we need your support to reach our goals. When you invest in Milagro, you are supporting an entire family of artists that enrich our community every day. Your contribution, big or small, helps Milagro continue its journey to provide cultural and theatrical experiences on Portland’s east side. Be a part of Milagro, be a part of the community!

With more funds we can:

  • Reach more students in urban and rural communities across the country
  • Continue to build our Artist-in-Residence program, introducing new talent in the form of directors, writers, actors and artists to Milagro
  • Take more creative risks with productions, with new and original works
  • Offer more free creative and community engagement events like tertulia: art + conversation

What is Give!Guide?

Willamette Week’s Give!Guide is Portland’s easiest path to year-end giving. G!G showcases small, medium and large organizations whose missions fall into eight categories: Animals, Civil and Human Rights, Community, Creative Expression Education, Environment, Health and Human Services. In 12 years, G!G has raised over $16 million for hundreds of local nonprofits. Last year, WW readers donated over $3.5 million to the Oregon Cultural Trust and 143 other Portland organizations.

The original intent of WW’s Give!Guide was to hook young readers on the year-end giving habit. Today, over 30% of the donations come from readers 35 and under. G!G also honors four Portlanders under 35 with the Skidmore Prize for their fabulous work with local nonprofits. Winners must work at a local nonprofit, be 35 years old or under, and earn $40,000 a year or less.

How can I help out?

The first 50 G!G donors of $25+ to Milagro will receive a free tamale from Tamale Boy Restaurant and Catering. Not all tamales have been redeemed! Donate today to score that free tamale! The first person to donate over $1000 or more to Milagro will receive a gift certificate to Tierra Educational Center for Spanish classes ($270 value), along with a free Tamale Boy tamale as well as the default G!G incentives of that level.

G!G makes donating fun! There are tons of free goodies from cups of coffee to tacos, no matter how much you give, $10 or $25,000. There are also incentives at different giving levels and you may be eligible to win great prizes by giving on Big Give Days.

Look for Milagro in the Creative Expression section. All donations are tax deductible.
