Insecure Communities: A Community Forum on Ending Unjust Deportation

Insecure Communities: A Community Forum on Ending Unjust Deportation

Friday April 13th 7:00 pm
Unitarian Church in Portland

An inspiring evening discussing the issues and solutions, and how you can get involved.  At the event theology Professor Rene Sanchez of the University of Portland will frame the moral and community issues involved.

Professor Elliott Young of Lewis and Clark (author of «Catarino Garza’s Revolution on the Mexican Border») will discuss the historical perspective and Shizuko Hashimoto of ACT For Justice and Dignity will talk specifically about how deportations are occurring in the Portland area and tearing families apart.

It’ll also be a chance for you to meet with various organizations working on the issues, and find out how you can lend a hand to fight unjust deportations and fight for true safety and security for some of our society’s most vulnerable through the Dream Act, tuition equity, driver’s licenses for all and workers rights.
