Does it seem like every restaurant, bar, and theatre is having a “Day of the Dead” special these days? Portland’s largest and longest running Día de Muertos Festival is only a month away at Milagro! You’ll experience an entire month of authentic arts, crafts, culture, cuisine, theatre, and traditional altars built especially for the occasion!
On Friday, October 17, get ready to join Shakespeare and his characters in the Land of the Dead, with ¡O ROMEO!, Milagro’s 20th original Day of the Dead production. Come early and tour the creative and inspiring Día de los Muertos altar exhibit in El Zócalo, curated by local artist Pepe Moscoso.
And on Tuesday, November 4, start your holiday season with ¡Viva Milagro! – Milagro’s sensational family-style fundraising dinner of Mexican cuisine, created this year by Jaime Soltero’s amazing Mayahuel Catering. With Milagro’s beloved Nurys Herrera emceeing, music by Portland’s own Edna Vasquez, a silent auction of gorgeous Day of the Dead-inspired art, and hilariously touching honorary Calaveras, this is THE quintessential event of Milagro’s season, and an extraordinary night for everyone! Get your tickets here!
